556 Ratchet Lock Hyflow Gen 5 Suppressor

TThe 556 RLHF Gen 5 is the latest iteration of the Hyflow design and a substantial improvement in size, flash and sound signature. This suppressor is a small, robust, direct thread rifle suppressor made from 718 inconel or titanium 6-4 powder using Selective Laser Melting or 3D metal printing technology. The design is optimized for semi auto and select fire rifles to provide the best user experience in terms of noise reduction and low gas back pressure. The 556DTHF is safe to use for 556 bolt action rifles, however single flow suppressors will provide a better solution in bolt action rifles and are available in either direct thread and QD from ODL for most calibres.

The Hyflow uses a patented flow design where gas is split into two paths at the blast baffle. The central path uses a very aggressive baffle design with room for the bullet to pass and an outer flow path where half the gasses are allowed to flow in a semi impeded path out separate holes around the periphery of the conical suppressor bore. The flow is balanced so that both paths exit at about the same time resulting in maximum suppression in minimum time for reduced impact to the firearm operational design, while maintaining reasonable sound reduction at both the muzzle and shooter’s ear.

Due to the parallel processing of the Hyflow, gas is processed twice as fast as a single flow suppressor. The result is nearly identical bolt velocity and back pressure in suppressed direct impingement systems as an unsuppressed rifle. Faster gas processing allows time for suppressor pressure to drop before the bolt opens allowing gas to exit out the front of the suppressor instead of venting back at the user.

The 556 RLHF cannot be disassembled due to the monolithic design which provides maximum strength to weight ratio. It mounts with two turns of a course thread on a muzzle device forward of the barrel shoulder to minimize any impact on laser or light placement. The rotation ring acts as a secondary retainer, engaging the ratchet teeth with two pawls to prevent the suppressor from unscrewing during use. The suppressor seals with a large tapered conical surface ahead of the threads to prevent carbon locking after prolonged use.
